FOODIES have been left drooling as a popular Easter treat has returned to supermarket shelves this week.
The sugary snack occurs in different versions across UK supermarkets, but sweet treat lovers reckon Morrisons’ offering is better than the rest… including Aldi.

Well, Morrisons have pumped them into cookies – and shoppers say they taste “amazing”[/caption]
The chain has dropped five-biscuit packets of Mini Egg Cookies for just £1.29 following bumper success in previous years.
The treat hunters at New Foods UK took to Facebook to alert other foodies.
“Had these the other day and they are amazing,” Elliot Gill affirmed.
“I bet these would be banging,” Chloe Smith added.
Tallulah Little penned that the cookies are “better than Aldi”, while Laura Versey claimed that the Tesco version is “rank” in comparison.
Sarah Grey joked that she’ll “scoff the whole packet in one sitting”.
Mini Eggs have a relatively short but interesting history.
They were originally introduced by Cadbury in 1967 and marketed as ‘Mikado’ eggs with a milk chocolate coating.
Over time, Cadbury expanded the Mini Eggs line to include various flavours and coatings, including dark chocolate and white chocolate varieties.
Now, they have a colourful sugar shell reminiscent of bird eggs and are a staple treat for Easter.
In addition to their popularity in the UK, Mini Eggs have a significant following in other parts of the world, including Canada and the US.
“Cadbury Mini Eggs are an Easter favourite,” Cadbury bosses said.
“Small in size but packed full of chocolatey goodness.
“Our classic bite-sized milk chocolate eggs in deliciously crispy sugar shells are back in their biggest bag ever this Easter.
“They’re perfect for sharing, hiding during your Easter Egg hunt or simply treating yourself.”
Last Easter, Cadbury’s “nostalgic” Dairy Milk Egg ‘n’ Spoon cartons were discontinued, but some heartbroken fans are just finding out now.
Produced over a decade ago, Egg ‘n’ Spoons consisted of four chocolate eggs in a carton filled with vanilla or chocolate mousse.
There was even a special Oreo version.
But the chocolatier, owned by Mondelez, confirmed last year that the egg cartons which contained their spoon “have been discontinued to reflect our fans’ changing taste buds.”
In the build-up to Easter egg season this year, Cadbury is still having to break the news to outraged fans on X, formerly Twitter.
Luckily, Morrisons’ new Mini Egg Cookies should do a good job of filling the void.
