A MUM has gone viral for her simple food storage trick that stops cereal from going stale.
The free hack meant that she didn’t have to fork out for reusable storage containers to keep the breakfast food fresh.

In her viral video, TikTok user Vicky Gilchrist (@vickygilchrist_) described the tip as a “kitchen hack that changed my life.”
She showed her audience an open box of Tesco Honey Hoops, which cost 79p.
Despite the low price, the TikToker was still keen to avoid any food waste.
Rather than simply tucking the cardboard flaps closed on the slit designed for resealing, she took another approach.
Vicky folded each of the flaps into the box, turning it to show her audience.
She then pinched either side of the opening together to close over the top.
Finally, she secured the flaps in place by folding one into the pre-cut slit.
Vicky held up the cereal box to demonstrate how it now stayed closed.
While the box is completely sealed, you should also tightly secure the plastic bag containing the cereal.
This well help to ensure that your breakfast is always as crunchy as the day you opened it.
Vicky explained that her husband usually breaks the top of the cereal box.
According to the TikToker, this simple trick has helped to “save the day.”
She carried out similar food storage hacks with a loaf of bread and a large bag of popcorn.
