A SAVVY shopper has revealed the best time to find yellow sticker bargains in Asda, after nabbing loads of cheap meat in hers.
Single mum Rachel explained that she popped along to her local supermarket over the weekend, and was stunned to see how many reduced items there were on the shelves.
“It’s 10:55 on Sunday morning,” Rachel began her TikTok video.
“Take note of that because I’ve just been in Asda and it was yellow sticker central.
“There was so much meat. They had diced chicken, big packs – I think they’re like 500 grams – for £2 something.
“They also had pork belly and minced meat, for really cheap.”
There is a downside to going to the shop at that time though.
“If I’m totally honest, it was extremely busy in there for me and I’ve literally come into the car park and can’t breathe because I just felt overwhelmed.
“So I only picked up a couple of bits in the yellow stickers.”
She also noted that her freezer is full, adding: “So let’s leave the reductions to people who need to fill up the freezers.”
“But I just thought if you are looking to save money on your food shop, then maybe Sunday mornings are quite good to go and stock up,” Rachel continued.
“On, like, your meat. Chuck that in the freezer. Trust me, it will save you so much money on your food.
“Shop when you’re getting your meat cheap – tastes just as good.”
She concluded by stating: “Sunday, Asda. Check it out in the morning. Yellow stickers. Job done!”
“So many yellow stickers in @Asda in hemel this morning this was around 11,” Rachel captioned her video.
“So could potentially be a great time to grab your yellow sticker bargains!”
Stocking up on yellow sticker bargains is a brilliant way to keep the cost of your weekly food shop down.
As Rachel pointed out, anything that’s soon going out of date can usually be put in the freezer until you’re ready to use it.
And finance blogger Fiona Hawkes explained that you’re also doing your bit to reduce food waste.
“As well as saving money, you’re also helping the environment as many products are thrown away if they are out of date and haven’t sold,” she told Metro.co.uk.
“Buying yellow stickers can also help you get creative in the kitchen as you might pick up reduced items that you wouldn’t usually buy.
“Shopping for reduced items can also make treats such as a steak dinner more affordable if you’re on a tight budget”.
