EASTER is a season of goodwill, when we’re supposed to spend time with loved ones, eat roast dinners and, most importantly, overindulge on chocolate.
But with the cost of living crisis causing supermarket prices to shoot up, a number of Brits are worried this Spring will be a drag.

The budget store’s new Easter Chocolate Card has divided opinions on social media[/caption]
That’s why some are turning their backs on gifting Easter eggs in favour of cheaper alternatives.
Money blogger Ricky Willis, the brains behind Skint Dad on Facebook, shared an Easter Card with five chocolate bars inside from B&M as an alternative to traditional eggs.
At £5, it has a bar of Galaxy, tube of Smarties, Wispa, Chomp and Twirl all linked together with a poem supposedly written by the Easter Bunny.
“Just saw this chocolate bar Easter set in B&M for £5,” Ricky penned.
“Worth it?”
Brits were quick to weigh in on the gift set, with some thinking it was perfect for kids but others thinking it was “a total waste of money”.
“Brilliant idea, I say,” Katie Parfitt said. “And saves the hassle.
“I think my kids would prefer this to an Easter egg.”
“I think it’s worth it,” Hayley Jane added.
“You can’t buy a lot with £5 these days.”
But others thought it was better to “pinch the idea and make one yourself for cheaper”.
“You could make four of these for approximately £6,” Sarah Hamilton said.
“As most of these you get packs of four or five for £1.25 to £1.50.
“It is lovely but I would make my own.”
“I’d make my own.” Tiffany Fagan echoed.
“Similar, but cheap and cheerful.”
B&M, the budget store famed for its low prices on branded products, has been flogging Easter chocolate since mid-December.
And just last week, shoppers were racing to their local store to get their hands on an “incredible” Quality Street Easter egg for £12.
A Nestle spokesperson told the Sun: “We’re excited to share our new Quality Street Golden Collection Incredible Egg with chocolate fans.
“The egg brings together fudge and caramel pieces in a caramel-flavoured shell and includes a mixed bag of Quality Street Caramel, Fudge and Toffees.”
