THERE’S nothing worse than battling through the crowds in the supermarket to get your Christmas food shop.
But one woman claims to have found the best time to hit the store – and it means she didn’t even have to queue when it was time to pay.
“This is your sign to do your Christmas food shop at 4.30am,” Effie wrote over the top of her TikTok video.
The clip began by showing her car clock, which showed the time of 4.35am, before she headed into the supermarket.
And when she got in, there was barely anyone else in there, with the aisles almost completely clear.
Even when she went into the chilled section in Asda, she didn’t have to fight anyone for her pigs in blankets.
“It was really quiet and no queues!” Effie added in the caption.
And she soon found that she wasn’t the only person to do their Christmas food shopping in the early hours of the morning.
“Agree. Always do this,” one wrote.
“I went at 7.30 and put my kids in breakfast club, so peaceful no one around!” another added.
“My mum does this,” a third commented.
“By the time she leaves it’s already getting busy!”
Others admitted that hitting the supermarket in peak times is less than enjoyable.
“Went to aldi at 8am… was hell on earth!” one wrote.
“I’ve just been and Asda was rammed,” another admitted.
As a third said: “I was lucky. Went after school run (9am) and was empty!”
However, going in the early hours does have its downsides as well.
One person who said they went at “5am this morning” saw the supermarket “rammed with cages and a million staff stacking shelves lol”.
And those doing their food shopping in the supermarket may be able to take advantage of the early Christmas sales.
George at Asda is also offering discounts of up to 50% on more than 50 Christmas decorations and gifts.
That includes saving £60 on an Inflatable Car Decoration and £50 on a Silver Reindeer Decoration.
Shoppers can also save £10 on a Gold Metal Trim Drinks Trolley, down to just £25, and £9 on a Glass Jug Blender & Cocktail Making Set.
Others said they also do the same and go in the early hours[/caption]
