IT has long had a reputation for being one of the best supermarkets around – but now Marks & Spencer has also won praise from customers for their cheap prices.
And one savvy supermarket fan has lifted the lid on the 14 food items that should shoot to the top of everyone’s shopping lists as they come in at under a quid.
Social media account Latest Deals unveiled their top products to buy, including everything from kitchen cupboard staples like soup and ketchup to sweet treats like cookies and iced biscuits.
The profile, which can be found at @latestdeals, and has amassed a huge following thanks to their supermarket deal videos, titled the video “what can you get for under £1 at M&S?”
Starting at the top, Latest Deals said: “A loaf of wholemeal sliced bread for 75p.”
They then listed other items including microwave pilau rice for 65p, tomato ketchup for 90p, and spaghetti hoops and baked beans for just 50p.
Other cheap buys include iceberg lettuce for 70p, a 2kg bag of white potatoes for £1 and plain white flour, which is the cheapest featured in the video at only 45p.
There’s also items that are perfect for lunch, such as a 75p tin of their own brand cream of mushroom soup with British double cream.
And any meal can be made even better with a side dish of garlic bread – especially when it amounts to just £1.
In the snack section, iced party ring biscuits – a dupe of popular biscuit party rings – cost 85p.
Meanwhile, a packet of chocolate chip cookies will also give you change from £1, as they’re just 85p.
Rounding up the video Latest Deals also highlighted the supermarket’s pink lemonade for 95p and a box of bran flakes totalling 90p.
Lots of M&S customers were quick to comment and said that not only were they impressed with the price point, but also the products themselves.
One wrote: “Their tomato soup is insane and better and cheaper than Heinz.”

This comes after other M&S customers have been taking to social media to rave about their frozen range and one item in particular.
TikToker Jasmine Heather, aka @jasmineheather4,sang the praises of the shop’s £3.50 frozen truffle butter.
Speaking about her new favourite food item, Jasmine said it’s “ideal for pasta and potatoes” and can be added to any dish to give it that extra flavour.
Later, in the comment section she added that it was a “game changer in food.”
