Last month, Snapchat rolled out its new chatbot, called ‘My AI’ to all its users.
The social media company said the ChatGPT-powered service would be ‘an experimental, friendly, chatbot’ designed to be a ‘personal sidekick’.
My AI was originally only available to to Snapchat’s three million paid subscribers – but the company announced at its annual developer conference that it was being rolled out to all of the app’s 750 million monthly users for free.
Similar to ChatGPT, users can ask ‘My AI’ factual questions, request creative content, and have back-and-forth conversations with the service.
However, concerns have been raised about My AI being inappropriate young Snapchat users when it was originally released in March.
Users have also raised concerns about the AI knowing their location and apparently denying it.
At the moment you can only remove My AI if you pay for Snapchat+.
Snapchat+ subscribers receive early access to new My AI features, and have the ability to unpin or remove My AI from their chat feed, according to the company’s website.
If you don’t want the chatbot on your Snapchat there’s a few ways around it.
