A WOMAN has hit back at trolls who said it was her fault that so many bugs came out of the broccoli she’d bought from Tesco.
Hatice shared a video in which she showed the amount of bugs that came out of the vegetable when she boiled it.
In the TikTok, she said: “Nah guys, look at this!
“I’m cooking and look how many bugs have come out… oh my God I feel f**king sick.
“Tesco, you make me feel sick.
“I don’t actually know what to say – I feel sick.
“Oh my days!”
She added in the caption: “THIS WAS LITERALLY JUST BOUGHT FROM TESCO.
“@Tesco I AM DISGUSTED!”
People were quick to comment on the post, with many of them accusing Hatice of forgetting to wash the broccoli before she cooked it.
The singer then hit back in another TikTok, as she said: “Guys, I wash my fruit and veg!
“I am one of the only people, I assume, in this country that washes everything, okay?
“All the comments that are telling me ‘Oh my God, you don’t wash your fruit and veg’, bro I f**king do it.
“I soaked it for a good 10 to 15 minutes. Nothing came out until I put it in the pan and boiled it.
“And then all the little dead things popped up.
“People that really, really know me know that I f**king hate germs, I hate bugs, I hate anything like that.
“Do you really think I’d put that in a pan and cook it? No, I was f**king mortified.
“And to everyone saying just wash it off, no I’m not just going to wash it off and f**king eat it.
“Yeah, if it was like one bug, yeah maybe. But not millions. They just kept coming. What the flip?”
She added in another video that she’d been given a £1 refund from Tesco following the debacle.
“Lol it happened to me bought from Asda exactly same bugs,” one person commented on the video.
“Don’t listen to those haters this could of happened to anyone that’s why I buy frozen veg,” another wrote, with Hatice insisting she’d be buying just frozen vegetables from now on.
“I do the same, I clean everything but them bugs hide and float to the top when the veg is cooking so I definitely believe you,” a third commented.
As someone else advised: “Fill your sink with lots of salty water and leave for at least 10 minutes then u won’t have the problem.
“Bugs in veg means no poison used.”
Asked to comment on the TikTok video, a Tesco spokesperson said: “We’re sorry to hear this.
“If the customer returns the product to store, we can issue a refund and investigate with our supplier.”
