The travel company emphasised the importance of flexibility – saying that adjusting travel dates can offer a wealth of cost-saving options.
You could choose to travel during less popular travel days, like those out of school holidays, or during off-peak, slightly rogue times.
Consider last minute deals
Although booking early is generally recommended to avoid disappointment, last-minute deals can also offer savings.
During off-peak seasons, travelers who book last minute could get some incredible discounts.
Although, they added that the sweet spot for booking European holidays is usually five months before departure – booking then could yield a 47 per cent reduction in costs.
While booking long haul flights six months in advance could save travelers a whopping 54 per cent off typical prices.
Mode of transport
That being said, the travel experts also cautioned against limiting yourself to flight options.
Travelling by train can offer a budget-friendly, and environmentally sustainable mode of transport for your holiday.
Eurostar have also revealed that booking train tickets four months in advance gives you the best fares – as well as a range of travel times and seat availability.
Price tracking tools
Then, they recommend using online tools that can help you find the best deal.
The advent of modern technology, coupled with the pursuit of travelling on a budget, has seen the rise of sites like KAYAK, Opodo and Skyscanner.
These sites provide real-time updates on price fluctuations, compare various airlines, and aid travelers in finding the best time to book their holiday.
Search for sales
Ski Vertigo revealed that airlines and travel agencies often offer flash sales or exclusive promotions.
Scouring for these deals could save you a pretty penny when it comes to reducing travel costs.
They also recommend subscribing to travel newsletters and following travel experts on social media to keep yourself informed of the best deals and sales.
A spokesperson from Ski Vertigo added: “Understanding these booking windows is key to unlocking significant savings and making summer travel more accessible.
“Our advice is not just about cutting costs but enhancing the overall travel experience.
“By booking early, travellers can enjoy a wider selection of flights and accommodations, ensuring their holiday matches their dreams.
