Sporting CP are ready to accept a £63 million bid for Viktor Gyokeres next summer, according to reports.
The Sweden international has been in superb form since moving to Portugal in a £20m deal from Coventry City last year, scoring 66 goals in 67 appearances in all competitions.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all shown an intertest in Gyokeres, with incoming United manager Ruben Amorim quizzed on a potential move for the striker after Sporting’s 4-1 win over Manchester City on Tuesday night.
Gyokeres has a €100m (£83m) release clause as part of his current deal with Sporting, however, The Telegraph reports that the Portuguese club will make the 26-year-old available for £63m at the end of the season.
Amorim has insisted that he would not look to bring Gyokeres to United in the January transfer window but has suggested that the striker could leave next summer.
Asked directly whether he was interested in bringing Gyokeres to United, Amorim said on Tuesday evening: ‘No, no, no. I cannot be funny with that in this moment.
‘It was tough for me to leave, if I start joking about that with Gyokeres, I’ll have problems. This is my city, this is my country, I will respect.
‘Viktor has to stay until the end of the season and then his life is going, maybe, somewhere else.’
Gyokeres was not asked about a possible move to United but said of Amorim: ‘We will miss him a lot, of course.
‘We achieved a lot together and we will miss him and the other members of the staff, but they are leaving and we have to move on and face the next challenge we have.’
