Chelsea have slapped a £50million price tag on Armando Broja after it was reported that they were willing to sell the striker in January.
There is much interest in Broja, with West Ham, Fulham and Wolves keen to acquire his services.
They’ll be on alert after it was reported on Wednesday that Chelsea were open to offers for the 22-year-old, regardless of whether or not they can sign a replacement centre-forward this month.
However, they won’t be happy to learn that, according to The Telegraph, the Blues value the Albanian international at between £50m-£60m.
It is said that they have based their valuation on what other young Premier League strikers have recently been signed for or valued at.
Namely, the £72m Manchester United paid for Rasmus Hojlund, and Brighton’s £100m valuation of Evan Ferguson, are said to have been big factors in their decision.
Even so, this seems an extortionate amount of money to pay for a player who has only shown glimpses of great potential.
Broja impressed during a loan spell at Southhampton a few seasons ago, but has only scored thee goals in 36 appearances for Chelsea.
The striker has struggled with injuries in fairness, missing much of 2023 with a knee issue, though, providing he stays, he could feature a lot in the next couple of weeks.
Mauricio Pochettino is without his first choice centre-forward Nicolas Jackson who is at AFCON, while Christopher Nkunku is struggling with fitness issues, which could allow Broja a chance in the starting XI.
Chelsea host Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup semi-final next Tuesday, followed by a tough FA Cup clash against Aston Villa and Premier League match at Liverpool.
