EqualEdge, the UK’s first Workplace Personal Assistant (WPA) recruitment agency, launched today with a mission to help d/Deaf and disabled people secure and maintain employment. EqualEdge’s online recruitment platform simplifies the hiring process, allowing employed d/Deaf disabled people to recruit vetted and trained personal assistants who provide administrative or professional support in the workplace. These recruited personal assistants are managed by EqualEdge.

EqualEdge Launches as the UK's First Workplace Personal Assistant Recruitment Agency

The services provided by EqualEdge are funded by Access to Work, a crucial grant provided by the Department of Works and Pensions (DWP). In addition to recruitment, EqualEdge also provides personalised workplace assistance, training, and connections to employment opportunities, ensuring d/Deaf disabled individuals have the support they need to thrive in their chosen careers.

EqualEdge was founded by Breakthrough UK, a charity that provides life-changing support to d/Deaf and disabled people. All profits from EqualEdge go back to Breakthrough UK, helping the charity to continue its important work.

EqualEdge has also developed an innovative tool that simplifies the process of accessing support, helping people determine their eligibility for the Access to Work grant.

EqualEdge actively collaborates with various agencies, councils, and disabled people’s organisations to expand its reach and make a collective impact. By working together, EqualEdge and its partners aim to create a more inclusive society for d/Deaf and disabled people.

Currently operating in Manchester and London, EqualEdge addresses disparities in employment opportunities for d/Deaf and disabled people at scale. The agency has ambitious expansion plans in sight, with the goal of reaching even more communities and making a lasting impact.

EqualEdge Chair, David Coulter, said:

“We are thrilled to launch EqualEdge and offer our unique services to d/Deaf and disabled people in the UK. Our mission is to help d/Deaf and disabled people achieve their full potential in the workplace, and we believe that our Workplace Personal Assistant program is a key step towards achieving this goal. We are committed to working with our partners to create a more inclusive society for d/Deaf and disabled people, and we are excited to see the impact of our work in the years to come.”
