ABUJA, NIGERIA – On August 31, 2023, the National Universities Commission (NUC), the regulatory and accreditation body for universities in Nigeria, paid a visit to Miva Open University to conduct a comprehensive resource verification exercise. The purpose of the visit was to assess the university’s preparedness for the commencement of academic programmes as a newly licenced institution.
The Miva Open University team, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Tayo Arulogun, warmly welcomed the NUC panel of experienced professors, administrators, and open and distance learning experts. Under the leadership of Founder and Chancellor Sim Shagaya, the university has gained recognition as an innovator in educational services, striving to disrupt and revolutionise the delivery of education to make it more accessible and affordable while maintaining its commitment to quality and academic excellence.
During a courtesy call at the Vice Chancellor’s office, the Acting Executive Secretary of NUC, Chris Maiyaki, expressed his admiration for the Founder and Chancellor of Miva Open University, Sim Shagaya.
