Meet the 27-year-old Record Producer empowering the minds of ex-convicts in prisons across the U.K. helping them showcase their talents.
Matthew Jackson, originally from Torquay moved to Manchester with a dream in his pocket to inspire the world through music.
Know to his fans as RestraintTheEngineer, Matthew has been producing music for over 15 years and it seems his talents are more than just beat making, Dj’ing and vocal Production as he enters one of Manchester’s most famous prisons Working directly with Key4life.
The budding musician is vastly becoming the talk of the town supporting HMP Forest Bank Inmates with rehabilitation programmes in a bid to help reduce the re-offending rate.
Only 14% of those who have been through Key4Life’s prison and preventative programmes have re-offended, compared to the national proven re-offending rate of 64% one-year post-release which in itself speaks volumes for the West London-based charity.
Speaking to Matthew Direct: it’s important for me to be able to branch out into different avenues through music as I find talent comes from all shapes & sizes, I’m proud to be involved in such an amazing organisation and I’m looking forward to what the future holds for both myself and those whom I’m currently supporting.
