Wordle Clone Brandle Is Brand New And You Can Influence Its Design

The latest Wordle spin-off, Brandle, only includes brands like Amazon and Disney, but it is clearly still in early development.

We’re honestly kind of surprised someone hadn’t already made a brand focused Wordle clone already. With how many other alternatives there are so far, from a Lord Of The Rings one to a Disney one, a Wordle where you must guess the brand name seems like a no-brainer.

Shared on the Wordle subreddit, user HalcytheWolf and their brother have put together Brandle. It looks and functions no differently to classic Wordle, where you have six tries to guess the word and each guess tells you which letters are within the answer.

The only real difference is that the words are six letters long instead of five. No reason is given for this, but it might be because there aren’t that many big name brands with five letters in their name.

Brandle is also lacking in features, such as a dark mode and a share option, and only offers randomised puzzles instead of a daily one available to everyone. Although HalcytheWolf suggests a daily puzzle could be added in the future.

The game is admittedly less than a week old and, judging by some of the feedback on Reddit, it shows. When testing it ourselves, we were surprised that Nestlé wasn’t recognised and, according to others, the full list of available brands is incredibly limited.

One user claimed to have typed in 100 major brand names and most of them didn’t work. HalcytheWolf has promised to add more in the future. A couple others have said that the game won’t work properly on mobile and doesn’t display the keyboard properly.

Brandle is possibly one of the more difficult Wordle clones we’ve encountered so far. Naming brands is one thing, but it’s far more difficult to think up ones that have exactly six letters in their name.

If you’re looking for a more challenging option that doesn’t limit the word pool, the likes of Absurdle and Quordle may tickle your fancy, with the former constantly changing the answer and the latter having you solve four puzzles at once.
