11/2/2022: Showbiz scoop-getter Baz Bamigboye is stepping down from writing his Daily Mail entertainment column after almost 40 years, leaving in March after the Oscars.
He will join US entertainment site Deadline later in the year, as well as pursue other projects.
Bamigboye said: “It’s been a hugely enjoyable run at the Mail and I am so grateful to have enjoyed the support of a superbly talented and loyal journalistic team. They have given me the freedom to do what I love most – breaking the biggest stories from the world of entertainment and showbiz. It’s been an absolute privilege and I wish Ted and the paper every imaginable success.”
Mail editor Ted Verity said: “Baz is a true legend. An exceptional journalist with an unrivalled contacts book, he has broken some of the industry’s biggest stories over a staggering career. He has my heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding contribution he has made to the Daily Mail and I wish him all the very best for the future.”

11/2/2022: Rozina Breen has been named editor-in-chief and chief executive of The Bureau of Investigative Journalism, succeeding Rachel Oldroyd.
Breen, who is currently heading up the north of England for the BBC and was previously head of news at BBC 5 Live, said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Bureau, a formidable and fiercely ambitious team pioneering local to global investigations that have impact across the UK and around the world.” (Read more)

11/2/2022: AP has appointed its veteran journalist Karen Mahabir as director of news talent for development, focusing on growth and mentorship opportunities for current staff including by resuming a future leaders programme.
Corinne Chin, currently a senior video journalist at The Seattle Times where she founded a diversity and inclusion task force, is joining AP as director of news talent for recruitment with the aim of bringing diverse journalists to the news agency. (Read more)

11/2/2022: Kaveh Solhekol has been appointed as chief reporter at Sky Sports News. He is the third person to hold the position and succeeds Bryan Swanson, who became director of media relations at FIFA last year (read more).

8/2/2022: Samantha (Sami) Herbert is appointed to the new role of head of digital strategy. She was promoted from the role of associate audience editor and previously spent six years at the Telegraph.co.uk, most recently as deputy editor.

7/2/2022: Former News UK director of communications Guto Harri has joined Boris Johnson’s senior team in the same role. Former Telegraph editor Will Lewis has joined the PM’s “brains trust” in an informal role (read more).

28/1/2022: Jo Elvin is stepping down as editor of Mail on Sunday’s You magazine after four years in April. She said she has “reached a stage in my life where I think it’s time to seek out some new adventures”. Mail Newspapers editor Ted Verity said she has done a “phenomenal job” and a new editor is being sought.
