It’s felt like a lifetime waiting for the 2020 Olympics to come around but the 2024 Olympics will be here before we know it.
Last year’s Tokyo 2020 Olympics had to be postponed by one year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
While the Olympics is held every four years, the next Games will still go ahead in 2024 – and not 2025 – to follow the original pattern of dates had the event gone ahead last year.
But where will it take place?
Where are the next Olympics being held?
The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris, France.
The International Olympic Committee confirmed Paris had won their bid to stage the Games back in September 2017.
They also made the decision to confirm Los Angeles as the 2028 hosts.
Both cities had wanted to host the 2024 event, before LA agreed to wait an extra four years after the IOC made guarantees on funding.
Hamburg, Rome, and Budapest were initially in the race to host in 2024 but decided to withdraw their bids.
It turned out to be third time lucky for Paris after France saw their 2008 and 2012 bids fall short.

The 2024 Games will mark 100 years since it was last held in the French capital.
Paris will be the second city, in the Modern Games, to have hosted three Olympics having also hosted in 1900. London is the other (1908, 1948, 2012).
Brisbane, Australia will host the 2032 Olympic Games.
