A British-Iranian aid worker who has been detained in Tehran since 2016 has been handed a further one-year prison sentence.
Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe is also banned from leaving the country for a year on charges of ‘propaganda activities against the regime’, her lawyer has confirmed.
The 42-year-old mother has been separated from her daughter and husband for almost five years after she was arrested at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini airport.
She was sentenced to five years in prison over allegations of plotting to overthrow the Iranian government. She has always denied all claims.
